This is a 1940 Chamber dated Mauser Banner built for contract with Sweden.. This Parabellum is 7.65mm with a 4" (100mm) barrel that is proofed and serial numbered to the gun.  Serial number placement is in the military ("exposed") style. The thumb safety is marked "Gesichert" and extractor "Geladen."  This example has all matching numbers.  (7175)

The distinctive Swedish Kal 7.65 further distinguishes this variation of difficult to obtain Mauser Banners.

This is a beautiful example of a 1940 fully matching dated Mauser Banner made for the Swedish Government perhaps to equip the Hemvärnet (The Home Guard) or the Swedish volunteers who joined the German government's defense of Finland .
