This is a Chamber Dated 1945 Krieghoff, made for the German Luftwaffe.  These were the very last of the war time Lugers before the plant was occupied by the American troops in Suhl. This is a 1908 Model, 9mm with a 4" (100mm) Barrel.

The first toggle link is marked with the Krieghoff monogram, and there is the "V" rear sight on the last toggle link.

This Luger has all matching numbers. The thumb safety is marked "Gesichert" and safe is in the down position. The extractor is marked "Geladen." The barrel is proofed and matches the frame.  There are extensive LWaA acceptance proofs throughout the gun.  Clean and finely struck.

The polishing and fit of the parts appears outstanding. The grips are the black plastic but we have seen maroon, brown (P Codes) and wood in the late 1944 or 45 Parabellums.

It appears at the end of this contract these guns were arsenic blued instead of the standard salt bluing characteristic of the Krieghoffs.

The serial number 13122 places this dated 1945 somewhere very near the end of military production. Gibson in "The Krieghoff Parabellum"" puts the end of production at 13200.

The finish is 98.9% Blued and extractor is blued as all Krieghoff Lugers were made.  The bore is excellent and the gun does not show evidence of being excessively fired.  This barrel does have the caliber markings found on the early models (881).  The grips appear consistent with those produced in the late war years.

It is entirely subjective to give any Luger a rating of excellent or fine, just as it is to declare it xx% blued or strawed. Few Lugers are out of the box new and these are premium priced. Bluing percentages is like Beauty, in the eye of the beholder.  We strive to provide pictures so you can judge for yourself if the gun meets your criteria. If you want more pictures or a detailed shot just email your request. This is an excellent example of the late war production Krieghoff.
